Cooling solutions for home building client HQ

Installed new equipment, provided space saving solutions with efficiency-boosting results for a private home building client in Cambridge.

Our client wanted us to replace 6 original Daikin VRVs with 4 larger systems. This would increase the overall capacity and allow for more office rooms to come online.

The original layout saw no more than 6 indoor units attached to each system due to the capacity limits of the older equipment. With the advancements in technology we were able to split this into 4 larger systems and add a further 6 director offices to the system.

As a result this freed up space within the condenser compound and perfectly lent itself to a phased replacement, keeping the client’s offices operational throughout the works.

  • Their office space was running on 6 original Daikin VRV systems (20 years old) and experiencing lots of issues

  • Provided quotation to replace end of life equipment after maintaining the original chillers for 6 months

  • Completed in stages to allow the office to stay open

  • Project allowed for systems to have more space in condenser compound, meaning less clutter and therefore a better overall environmental footprint

  • Time management was critical for this project

  • All equipment is now fully operational

Taking over half an office at a time, with well planned management alongside the on site team, we were able to complete the installation before handing the areas back to site. Time management was critical on this one and the team did a great job of keeping a few days ahead of schedule to allow maximum time for transition between each phase.

All systems are now operational and an additional netting has been placed above the condenser compound to protect the condensers from falling debris which will impact their operation. Our client has been a pleasure to work with, very accommodating and helpful throughout the works. We will continue to maintain the newly installed equipment as part of the 7 year Daikin D1+ warranty.
