Install to existing chilled water system for client in the south of England
Klimatec decommissioned and repositioned an existing McQuay chiller, as well as installed a buffer vessel to support an existing Parker Hirros chiller which was piped directly into the building, including new pump sets.
With a successful completion towards the end of 2021, Klimatec once again delighted a private client in the south of England by decommissioning and repositioning their existing McQuay chiller, as well as installing a buffer vessel to support an existing Parker Hirros chiller which was piped directly into the building, including new pump sets, expansion vessel, pressurisation set and dosing pot. From the vessel, Klimatec installed pipework to two pumps which supplied the client’s building at both ends with fresh chilled water for the available test equipment.
Installed chiller onto an existing chilled water system supplying pressure test rigs
Klimatec installed a 1500l buffer vessel adding x2 pump sets x1 7.5kw & x1 2.5kw a new expansion vessel and pressurisation set and x1 dosing pot
Project involved an external crane company to site the large buffer vessel
Prior to fitting the client had no backup chiller, now they do, with an automatic change over controlled by the BMS system
Worked with five other companies to complete project
Pandemic and material shortages created several logistical challenges
Part of the works also saw Klimatec remove an additional temporary chiller which was located in the client’s car park.
Whilst working on site Klimatec had to circumnavigate a large perimeter fence which was positioned around the chiller compound. The limited access posed a challenge, particularly when it came to manoeuvring several heavy industrial 6.5m pipes. There was also a slight delay in obtaining the appropriate flushing license, which forced the team to instead obtain x8 1000l IBC storage containers to help dispose of the flushing by-product.
Overall, the client’s own onsite team worked closely with Klimatec’s highly experienced engineers to provide assistance when required and were extremely welcoming and cooperative for the duration. The client’s feedback was very positive and they are extremely happy with the install.
